Privacy Policy for FlowLocker

Last updated: 09.12.2025

FlowLocker (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Device & System Permissions

To function properly, FlowLocker uses:

  • App & website usage data provided by Apple’s FamilyControls framework
  • DeviceActivity events to track when blocks should start or stop

This data never includes the content of your apps or websites — only category identifiers provided by iOS (e.g. “Social”, “Games”).

1.2 Focus Session Data

Stored locally on your device:

  • Schedules and blocking rules
  • Active and past focus sessions (start time, end time)

We do not collect or upload this data to external servers.

1.3 Purchase Information

Handled by:

  • Apple (payments)
  • RevenueCat (subscription status)

We receive only anonymized purchase status (active / expired / cancelled).

1.4 Technical Information

To improve stability, we use Firebase Crashlytics, which collects crash reports such as device model, iOS version, app version, and crash logs. This helps us fix bugs and improve reliability.

1.5 Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics in a privacy-friendly, anonymous configuration.

  • Anonymous events (e.g., “onboarding started”, “onboarding completed”)

No personally identifiable information is collected or linked to analytics events.

1.6 Leaderboard Data (Anonymous)

FlowLocker includes a built-in leaderboard that displays total focus time (XP). To operate this feature, the App stores anonymized leaderboard data in Firebase Firestore, including:

  • Gained XP points (one minute of focus = 1 XP point)
  • An anonymous user identifier generated by Firebase Anonymous Authentication
  • The nickname you choose inside the App (not linked to any personal identity)

This information does not include personal data such as your real name, email address, or contact details. It is used solely to maintain the leaderboard, prevent abuse, and ensure correct ranking.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Enable the App’s blocking and focus features
  • Store your schedules and session history locally
  • Process subscriptions and validate purchases
  • Improve stability (crash reporting)
  • Understand aggregate usage of App features (analytics)
  • Communicate important service messages

We do not collect the content of blocked apps/websites, track you across other apps or websites, sell your data, or use IDFA or personalized advertising.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Limited information may be processed by:

  • Apple — subscriptions & payments; focus & blocking data handled by iOS internally
  • RevenueCat — subscription status
  • Firebase (Google LLC) — crash reports and anonymous analytics

These third parties process data under their own privacy policies and comply with GDPR/CCPA standards.

4. Data Retention

  • Focus session data: stored locally until you uninstall the App or delete it manually inside the App.
  • Purchase records: retained by Apple.
  • Crash reports: stored by Firebase for diagnostic purposes.
  • Analytics: stored in anonymous form.

We do not maintain a cloud account for your data.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Request limitation of processing
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent (where applicable)

6. Security

We use Apple FamilyControls secure APIs, Firebase App Check, and industry-standard data handling practices. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

7. Children’s Privacy

FlowLocker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
